If you get a chance to find great mentors, do so. I have had the chance to work for successful companies remotely, from countries like the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, and the United States. Some of whom are now my clients. I mention these countries because it's such a different business climate, it's highly competitive, fast-paced, and always evolving, a widely different contrast to Namibia. So like anyone going into the great unknown, I welcomed these business insights with a fresh perspective. But that wasn't always the case. There were times where I would find myself so stuck in a certain viewpoint that I would build this tunnel vision and lose sight of the bigger picture. However, having these mentors walk me through challenges, really repositioned my mindset to think differently towards the way I run my business. Things I learned from them include: Failure is a learning curve that makes you more agile to take on the next challenge with experience under your belt and more grit under your feet to go against the many frictions you will encounter. Don't self-sabotage, take control of your mind and your thoughts and realign that with practicality and structured processes, and don't get emotionally invested in things that dont serve you. Life is too short. Trust in your abilities and take your own advise into account, so often we give advise about business but we fail to implement them into our own businesses. And lastly, be a lifelong learner, as times and industries change so too must your perspective and knowledge. As the wise Albert Einstein said "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." ✨ I hope you found this useful.
